Cops nab Council driver for overtaking Vice-President’s motorcade

POLICE in Livingstone have arrested and charged a 34-year-old driver of Livingstone Municipal Council with dangerous driving for allegedly overtaking Vice-President Guy Scott’s motorcade.
Southern Province commissioner of police Mary Chikwanda said that the incident happened yesterday between 12:00 hours and 13:00 hours on Airport Road while Dr Scott’s motorcade was on its way to Sun Hotel.
Ms Chikwanda named the suspect as Osman Mangwato.
“We have charged Mangwato with dangerous driving for overtaking His Honour the Vice-President’s motorcade,” Ms Chikwanda said.
Mr Mangwato caused panic among security personnel when he overtook Dr Scott’s motorcade but he was stopped and bundled into another vehicle and taken to Victoria Falls Border Police Station.
